8. Privileged Roles

8. Privileged Roles

Once you have done the initial setup of NoahFace for your customer, you should assign privileged roles to one or more users. To do this, select Add Role from the context menu next to the user:

You will see a popup as follows:

User’s can be assigned one of the following roles:

  • Viewer . Users with this role will be able to:
    • View Events and Reports in the NoahFace Dashboard.
  • Manager . Users with this role have all the permissions of the Viewer role, plus they will be able to:
    • Manage users under the Users page in the NoahFace Dashboard.
    • Register users within the NoahFace iPad App.
    • Clock users in and out using the NoahFace and NoahFace Go Apps.
  • Administrator . Users with this role have all the permissions of the Manager role, plus they will be able to:
    • Manage user roles.
    • Make configuration changes.

Assuming the user has an email address, you will also have the option as to whether you want to send an invitation to the user to grant them Dashboard access. If you uncheck this option, the user will still be assigned the privileged role, and they will still have elevated privileges within the NoahFace Apps, but they will not be sent an invitation for a Dashboard login.

If you choose not to send an invitation initially, or if a user’s invitation expires, you can re-send them an invitation at any time by re-selecting Dashboard Access in the context menu next to the user, and then pressing Re-send invite.

When the user is sent an invitation, they will receive an email such as the following:

If they click on Accept Invite they will see a sign-up page to create their account:

And once they have created their account, they can sign in at any time at:

https://dashboard.noahface.com/sign-in

Once users have been assigned roles, you will see their roles in the user list:

A system administrator can manage a user’s role by re-selecting the Dashboard Access context menu next to that user:

From this screen they can:

  • Re-send a user’s invitation (if it has not yet been accepted).
  • Change a user’s role.
  • Remove all access from a user.

Finally, a system administrator can also view the list of users across the organisation that have been assigned roles. This is done from the User Roles menu in the top right:
