When using a USB to Serial Adapter to connect your BellMinder, you'll also need to install the ATEN adapter driver software. This will enable your computer to detect BellMinder from the USB port instead of the Serial port.

If you are having connection issues and you look into 'device manager' on your pc and find an Exclamation Mark beside a usb to serial adapter then you don't have the ATEN usb to serial driver installed.

Instructions

Step 1

Click the download link and then select the driver for your operating system.
Windows 10 and 11 users will require the driver version v1.0.087

Step 2

Once the driver is downloaded you need to unzip it into a folder and then run UC232A_Windows_Setup.exe program that is inside the driver.

Step 3

Next step is to run the BellMinder software and go tools menu then 'Auto Detect Comm Port' and click 'Start Detection' - this will find the bellminder (which needs to be plugged into the adapter and powered on).

Step 4

After this you should be able to send the schedule to the Bellminder Controller.
